LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Three-year-old Violet Affleck now has a baby sister. Jennifer Garner has given birth. This is the second daughter for Garner and hubby Ben Affleck. The baby's name hasn't been revealed yet. Garner and Affleck are both 36. They were married in June 2005. <
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Last year's "American Idol" came down to two men. And, it could happen again this year. New judge Kara DioGuardi says the men could have the edge this time. She says she saw some unique singers during auditions, especially among the men.

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Remember that bar fight, or whatever it was, in Shreveport, Louisiana that involved Josh Brolin, Jeffrey Wright and others from the movie, "W?" Charges are being dropped. They had been charged with interfering with police officers after a disturbance involving a crew member from the movie. Their lawyer says prosecutors in Shreveport have agreed to drop all charges against the group within 60 days. Video posted on TMZ showed Brolin and Wright hugging each other before being handcuffed. Brolin rubs his eyes after apparently being pepper sprayed. He then kneels on a sidewalk as other officers forcibly cuff Wright, who's lying nearby in the street.

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- "Iron Man," "The Dark Knight" and "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" are battling each other twice at the People's Choice Awards. All three are up for favorite movie and favorite action movie. Christian Bale and Heath Ledger, and Harrison Ford and Shia LaBeouf face another tough challenge: for Favorite On-Screen Match-Up, against Tina Fey and Amy Poehler of "Baby Mama." These and a long list of awards will be given out tonight at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. The show airs on CBS and Queen Latifah hosts.
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- You laugh, he cries. If you go to see "Bedtime Stories" and you hear some guy sobbing, that could be Adam Sandler. Sandler says when he sees kids laughing at his movie, he cries because he's so happy. He says it makes him feel like he "did a good thing."

NEW YORK (AP) -- Kate Winslet has two movies out and both roles have Oscar buzz. In "Revolutionary Road," she's reunited with Leonardo DiCaprio, playing a couple whose marriage is disintegrating. In "The Reader," she plays a former Nazi prison guard. Winslet says both roles were "unbelievably complicated" and the most challenging experiences of her entire career. She says getting to play both parts in a "lifetime, let alone in the space of less than a year," just "doesn't happen to people."

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) -- Oscar voters have to decide which of the following are the most convincing make-up jobs. Brad Pitt aging from old to young and Cate Blanchett doing the opposite in "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button." Kate Winslet also aging several decades in "The Reader." Heath Ledger's misplaced lipstick and white paint in "The Dark Knight." Ron Perlman's rosy glow in "Hellboy II." These and "Synecdoche, New York," "Tropic Thunder" and "The Wrestler" are the semi-finalists for Oscar nominations for make-up. Three nominees will be announced at the nominations January 22nd.

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) -- One of the digital wizards behind "WALL-E," "Ratatouille" and "Finding Nemo" is getting an Academy Award. Ed Catmull, one of the co-founders of Pixar Animation, will get the Gordon E. Sawyer Award. It's an honorary Oscar for lifetime achievement in computer graphics for filmmaking.
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Alyssa Milano is engaged. She said "yes" on December 18th when her boyfriend, David Bugliari, asked if she would marry him. He's an agent at the high-powered Creative Artists Agency. The two have been dating for more than a year. No wedding date has been set. Milano is 36.
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Roman Polanski is finding out that prosecutors still want to go after him. They say Polanski's attempt to have a 31-year-old rape charge against him dismissed should be denied outright. And, they say his claims of misconduct by a judge cannot be heard in court unless he returns to the United States. But, Polanski would risk getting arrested if he comes back to the U.S. He ran away to Europe in 1977 after pleading guilty to unlawful sex with a minor. His lawyers have suggested he's not needed in court.
